At the Market

[Vegetables]

Saturday, 11 a.m.

John heads to his local market to pick up some food for the week ahead. As he steps up to the vegetable stand, he realizes that the girl behind the counter is unusually pretty.

John : Hi there! Why haven't I noticed you before?[Listen]
Clerk : (blushing) Excuse me? Can I help you?
John : You sure can. I'll have two pounds of tomatoes, a cucumber and half a dozen oranges.
Clerk : The radishes are really fresh today, you know. . . .
John : I can see that. I'll take one bunch, please. The prices here are always incredible.
Clerk : I don't know how my boss stays in business. Will that be all?
John : I almost forgot. Could you get me a head of romaine lettuce, please?
Clerk : Sure. Anything else?
John : (reaching for a shopping basket) No, I'd better get some stuff inside now.
Clerk : OK. You can bring these to the cashier inside. Thank you.
John : Thanks. Hope to see you again soon.
Clerk : Have a good day.

John reluctantly leaves the clerk and enters the market to buy bread, butter and canned soup.
