Saturday, 8:15 p.m.

Toni closes the Hollis family's front door after assuring Louise that the kids will be in bed at a reasonable time.

As soon as the door is closed, Becky runs over to the couch and starts jumping on it. She soon tires of that, and goes to a cupboard to take out a board game.

Becky : Toni, will you come play my game?
Toni : Sure, Becky. Are you going to follow the rules this time?
Becky : Naw, I have my own rules and they're better.
Toni : Becky, when are you going to play by the real rules?
Becky : When I turn six.

Becky sets up the pieces on the start square and picks up the first card. Jim is still finishing his ice cream at the table, while flipping through the pages of a magazine.

Jim : Hey, look at this funny cartoon.
Becky : No, Jim, we're busy over here. I'm playing this game with Toni.
Toni : (Turning over a card) This one says: "You cast a magic spell. Advance one square."

Jim comes over to look.

Toni : It's getting to be bedtime.
Jim : Toni, my bedtime is 9:30 now, when it's not a school night.
Toni : Well, that's not what your parents said.
Jim : You know, I heard that your boyfriend used to be your babysitter.
Toni : Where'd you hear that? Now go upstairs and get ready for bed.
Becky : Come with me. I want to show you my new fish.
Toni : OK, but I think fish are pretty gross.

The three of them go upstairs.
